I have worked out that, since I want my LiveJournal and my Dreamwidth to mirror each other fairly coherently, I'm not really doing the "friends only" deal anymore -- I'm going to be sort of friends-optional, in that RL things are still going to be locked, along with anything sufficiently silly/spammy/just not a genuinely interesting fandom thing. As of today, I'm moving house. I happened to get packed up and moved out for the summer on the same day that my LJ paid time expired, and I thought, I'm having no fun being endlessly frustrated with LiveJournal but giving them my money anyway because I have a weakness for 100+ userpics and the poll option.
